  • A network of horizontal inspection galleries at 16-metre intervals (15 kilometres total)
  • A network of vertical inspection shafts between each block (15 kilometres total)
  • Varying densities of concrete mix, from 140 kg/m3 (core) to 300 kg/m3 (faces)
  • A watertight diaphragm created by injecting cement up to 200 metres below the concrete to make the rock beneath watertight and reduce the risk of water escaping
